Summer has made a brief appearance this weekend, with the weather in our area about 20 degrees F (10 degrees C) hotter than normal at this time of year. And when the sun comes out, the weather is hot, and the pallet gets parched, I think most of us start thinking about something delicious to sip on.

Blackberry Balsamic Virgin Mojitos
3 tbsps of blackberry syrup
1/2 dozen mint leaves
3 slices of lime
a drizzle of balsamic reduction
soda water to taste (about 1 cup)
Okay, because I know you’re going to ask about the whole “first marriage/second marriage” thing, here’s the skinny. Joshua and I had a civil ceremony (wedding #1) so we could get the ball rolling on immigration (he’s from the US, I’m Canadian). Our wedding day and the one we celebrate as our anniversary (wedding #2) was in Quebec City where we had a formal wedding with the whole family and friends after his visa had been approved. So, we jokingly say we love each other so much we got married twice. Kapish?
