Keep It Real Thursdays – Yummy Comfort Foods

Every week I struggle with this and as a result I choose some kind of theme (in my head at least) to help me get through the selection process. This week I chose yummy comfort foods. Probably because as I write this I’m freezing my “bleeeeep” off. I can’t wait to jump into the Bikram yoga hot room tonight! And maybe enjoy one of these delicious bowls of healthy goodness afterwards…

Keep It Real Thursday

1. Introduce yourself, your blog, and what you’re about in the comment section and a small blurb about what you’re sharing. This way people can get to know you a little bit right off the hop and hopefully follow you as well.

2. Be sure to add a link in your post back to this post otherwise the linky tool will give you an error message. Though it was suggested you add a back link to THIS post in YOUR post, it will now be required. Copy and paste the link in the address bar above and add it to your site before trying to link it here. Otherwise the linky tool will give you an error message. If you have any questions about how to do that, just send me an email and I can walk you through it. Thanks everyone for the support and your involvement in Keep It Real Thursdays! This allows your readers to find other posts that may help them on their journey.

3. If you’re sharing recipes, the ingredient list must be comprised of real food only, that means non-processed food items. That being said, we are all in different places on our real food journey, some more advanced than others. I invite all of you to share, no matter where you are on your journey, but I ask you to stay mindful when sharing your recipes that this is a whole (real) food blog. This means, no ingredient lists that include edible oil products (velveeta, frozen whip topping), protein powders, ketchup, white flour, margarine or white and brown sugar.

4. Less of a rule but more a suggestion: Retweet,  Stumble, or Pin this post so EVERYONE gets more exposure and traffic. It’s win-win for everyone.

Don’t have a blog? That’s ok, we’d still love to hear from you. Write your recipes or tips in the comment section so we can get to know you too!

Now it’s your turn to share your whole food recipes and ideas!

Thanks for hosting again this week! There is something comforting about a warm bowl of soup on a cold winter day.

Do you like oysters? Here are the “Benefits of Eating Oysters” – now you have a reason to eat them!

There is nothing like fresh hot bread right out of the oven – I also shared a tutorial on Whole Wheat Bread – Sprouted or Soaked

    Have a great week!

I love oysters. Lately I’ve been craving them. In fact I have an order of 24 kusshis (small oysters) coming in today. They are very high in B12. Something I need more of. Thanks for sharing both posts today with the community.

That’s great Eileen. I’m sure there is a lot of questions concerning which path to take and what the differences are. Thanks for contributing.

    Hi France,

Hooray! I’m Finally sharing some recipes this week!

By the way, great highlights. Tessa’s soup does look amazing (like everything she makes).

This week I am sharing two delicious meals. One is a vegan soup (French Lentil, Butternut Squash, and Dino Kale), the other is one of my absolute favorite meals: Chicken, Black Bean, and Delicata Squash Enchiladas with Homemade Enchilada Sauce. I’ve served this to many, many folks (all traditional eaters) and everyone has LOVED the recipe. So I’m excited to share it with you too.

Hope you’re having a great week.

Thanks so much for hosting this fun weekly event and for featuring my Burmese Breakfast Rice Bowl (I’ve been eating this almost every day the past few weeks!). This week, I’ve linked up two recipes – Greek Feta Yogurt Dip and Gluten-Free/Grain-Free Mini Pizzas, both kid-friendly and great for after school snacks.

Everything looks wonderful, but I’m especially drawn to the root vegetable soup right now. it’s been so cold, and the girls and I are home with the flu. The creamy soup looks like just what the doctor ordered!

This is a great! There are so many tasty looking recipes to add to my list to try. I’m sharing a granola recipe that will use up some of the pulp after juicing carrots. I can’t wait to get into the kitchen to get cooking.
