TV Tuesday #21: How To Get Energy Series – 3 Ways To Eat For Energy

There are a few reasons that people turn to whole foods.

Some people just know that eating real food is better for them and they make the switch. If you are this person, you probably weren’t that far away from real foods anyway. Maybe you strayed for a while but in general you were brought up on good natural food.

Others are suffering from allergies or are healing themselves from illnesses such as diabetes. Some are trying to get off of medications such as blood pressure meds or cholesterol meds.

And then there’s always weight loss. After trying a million and one diets that don’t really work, some choose to turn to whole foods.

I’m of the belief that all reasons that lead you to whole foods are good ones.

Enter Cheer Leading Squad.

“We love whole food, yes we do. To whole foods, we stay true. Yeahhhh real food!”

Right, where was I?

Energy.

The last one is energy. Some people turn to whole foods because they are so over feeling sluggish, tired, dealing with huge energy crashes mid day, or an overall lack of get up and go.

I turned to whole foods for all of the above. I had all kinds of gut issues, I had weight I wanted to loose, I new I wanted to eat better since we grew up eating healthy, flavorful, natural foods and I knew it was a better way to live. At the time I didn’t realize that the biggest thing I was going to gain was ENERGY. Butt loads of energy.

Yeahhhh, whole foods.

So we’re doing a little series on How To Get Energy. This is part one of that series, focusing on 3 great ways to eat for energy. As I said, this first video is on eating for energy (not specific foods). Next, we’ll talk about getting natural energy and ways to harness more energy that doesn’t directly relate to food, and lastly we’ll touch on the actual foods we should eat for energy.

    I eat whole natural foods and eat 34 times a day. I plan to try smaller portions and 5 times a day!

    First off, LOVE the hair lady – fabulous.

    I have to comment really quick on portions (point 3). It’s amazing how much weight people lose when the just cut their portions. Seriously. We have a few family members that were very over weight did just this – cut the portions, cut the calories. They mentioned how much more energy they had too!!

    My husband and I are so guilty of overeating. We are little piggies and it’s so exhausting on our bodies. I can feel it.

    You bring up 3 great points EASY, doable points, France. I laugh because now that I’m a mommy I eat with my kids (which is 5 times each day). I notice my energy stays pretty stable. But I’m not a coffee drinker, so I really really on these 3 steps you mentioned to keep my energy going.
