Keep It Real Thursday: A Salute To Pancakes & Pumpkins

Raise your hand if you love lazy Sunday mornings?

No, seriously. Raise your hand. Let the world know. Even if you’re at the office and people will look at you funny.

Lazy Sunday mornings are nothing to be ashamed of.

THE quintessential lazy Sunday involves a special, rockin’, weekend only breakfast. Enter pancakes stage left please. Seeing that it’s also autumn, a Sunday breakfast should have something that distinguishes the season. Yup. You guessed it.

Pumpkin Pancakes.

Two of our awesome contributors to last week’s EPIC Keep It Real Thursday post, shared these awesome pumpkin pancake recipes, and I think we owe it to them to make a batch on a Sunday very soon. Don’t you agree?

Welcome to Keep It Real Thursday!

The Rules:

1. Introduce yourself, your blog, and what you’re about in the comment section and a small blurb about what you’re sharing. This way people can get to know you a little bit right off the hop and hopefully follow you as well.

2. Be sure to add a link in your post back to this post. Simple linky etiquette. This allows your readers to find other posts that may help them on their journey.

3. If you’re sharing recipes, the only requirement is that the ingredient list be comprised of real food only, that means non-processed food items. That being said, we are all in different places on our real food journey, some more advanced than others. I invite all of you to share, no matter where you are on your journey, but I ask you to stay mindful when sharing your recipes that this is a whole (real) food blog. This means, no ingredient lists that include edible oil products (velveeta, frozen whip topping), protein powders, ketchup, white flour, margarine or white and brown sugar.

4. Less of a rule but more a suggestion: Retweet,  Stumble, or Pin this post so EVERYONE gets more exposure and traffic. It’s win-win for everyone.

Don’t have a blog? That’s ok, we’d still love to hear from you. Write your recipes or tips in the comment section so we can get to know you too!

Now it’s your turn to share your whole food recipes and ideas!

I’m sharing this with Simple Lives Thursday, Full Plate Thursday, Freaky Friday, Fight Back Friday, and Foodie Friday.

Thanks for hosting! We generally eat grain-free because we’re following a healing protocol to heal my family’s food allergies. When we do splurge, I want to make sure it’s with safe food and well worth the treat. Sunday pancakes this week will be well worth the treat. Yum. Thanks for featuring the pumpkin spice pancakes to give me some new ideas!

This week, I am sharing a great first step in learning how to cook real food recipes and my husband’s hands-down-favorite meal.

Funny you’re giving an ode to pumpkins – I’m celebrating Pumpkin Week every day this week!

Pumpkin and Pancakes, what’s not to love!

I’m sharing my Coconut Rum Raisin Free-Form Muffins recipe. They’re gluten/grain-free, refined sugar-free, vegan, and would be paleo too if not for the rum. Ah well, sometimes you’ve got to live a little.

Ha ha. I miss the days of lazy Sunday mornings. Our kiddos get up between 5:00 am – 6:00 am every morning. It’s a little painful on the weekends, as Scott and I are so bad about staying up waaaay too late watching movies, talking or reading. And we stay up extra late on the weekends (because we can) but oh the mornings are brutal. It’s all good. Our children are only little for such a short amount of time. We treasure them and do what we can to keep them entertained while we get a little extra sleep on the weekends. :-)

I wouldn’t know what a lazy Sunday looks like – lol – (usually in the hockey arena by 7 am) but I sure do like the looks of these warming weekend pancakes. The roundups are always so
great – perusing all the deliciousness out there… so much creativity and yumminess!

I remember the days (before kids) when my husband and I would go to the local pancake house and hang out with our friends for hours! Now, I look forward to weekends when I have time to make pancakes for my kids – always a treat. Thanks for featuring my Pumpkin Pancakes – I have to say these were really good – good thing I don’t make pancakes too often because I found myself standing over the stove and eating them as they came off the griddle.
